The 19th SEDM-CC Meeting as a second annual meeting was held in Struga, on September 25, 2008.
Chairperson briefed the Committee on latest update on the SEDM-CC Activities and COMSEEBRIG presented an update of activities of HQ SEEBRIG.
Bulgaria, as a host nation for the SEESIM–08, gave a status report on the planning and execution process of Exercise SEESIM–08. The Bulgarian representative gave brief information about the DV Day for Exercise SEESIM-08.
SEDM-CC welcomed Albania as a new host nation for SEESIM’10.
The IMIHO Chairman gave a status report on the IMIHO project and presented the way ahead for it. He mentioned that the technical specifications for the hardware and software of the system will be finalized so that they will be submitted for approval. The IMIHO Chairman recommended the approval of the submitted MOU, presented way ahead and implementation of the 1st phase of the project as it was presented during the meeting.
Regarding the CBSC Project, Bulgaria present status report on SEDM-CC approved the results from the revision process of the 7 recommended steps for the future work of the CBSC Project, made during the 10th CBSC WG meeting. The SEDM-CC welcomed present SEDM-CC and PMSC Chairing Nation as a new CBSC Project Chairing Nation.
Albanian representatives briefed the participants on the current status of the SEEDIRET project and also completed its chairmanship of the project. This subject matter remains open for voluntary nation until the deadline. If there is no voluntary nation until the proposed deadline, the SEDM-CC Secretariat will chair the project until the 20th SEDM-CC meeting. Nations agreed to reevaluate the SEEDIRET project at the first WG meeting for Future Direction of SEDM.
Chairman of the Initial Meeting for establishing of a WG on future direction of SEDM, presents the status report on the creation of WG on the future direction of SEDM and also presents the organizational details for the upcoming SEDM Ministerial meeting in Ohrid, on Oct 8, 2008.
SEDM-CC agreed to have a first WG meeting on future direction of SEDM in conjunction with the next SEDM-CC and PMSC Meeting
Next SEDM-CC meeting will be held on March 12, 2009 in Skopje.
