Tomorrow, 11 February (Thursday) in the “Mihailo Apostolski” barracks in Ohrid, beginning at 12:00 hours, a ceremony will be held on the occasion of the welcoming of the ARM contingent from the composition of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade (2MIB) which participated in the peace mission ISAF in Afghanistan. The following will participate on the ceremony for the welcoming of the ARM contingent from the ISAF mission: The Chief of GS of the ARM, Lieutenant General Miroslav Stojanovski, the Commander of the Joint Operations Command of the ARM, Major General Zoran Dimov, the Commander of the 2MIB, Colonel Metodija Velichkovski, representatives from the local self-government from the city of Ohrid, the relatives of the members of the contingent and other guests. In the seventh rotation in the peace mission ISAF in the period from July 2009 to January this year, the ARM participated with a Mechanized Infantry Company from the composition of the 2MIB. In this period 149 “Leopards” together with the most senior national representative and three staff officers were deployed in the main ISAF Command in Kabul. As it is known, in the previous six months the members of the ARM carried out their tasks in the framework of the contingent from the Army of the United Kingdom, where their main task was security of the Main Command of ISAF forces in Kabul. Apart from this, the ARM peacekeepers in Kabul also carried out other complex tasks such as: patrolling and security of the military base and facilities of vital meaning for the lives of the population in Afghanistan, combat security of communications and fields and other tasks depending on the requirements of the mission. For the smooth and professional carrying out of the tasks, as well as for the showed compatibility and interoperability with the forces of the Alliance in the ISAF mission, the ARM members received the highest marks from the ISAF Command and from the senior command structures of the Alliance. Journalists, cameramen and photographers are invited to follow and report on the event. In order to adhere to the procedures for entering the “Mihailo Apostolski” barracks in Ohrid, the arrival in front of the check-in of the barracks should be 11:30 at the latest. |
