As a result of the cooperation between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Macedonia and the Defence Institute of International Legal Studies from New Port, USA, a regional seminar on the topic “Legal aspects in the fight against terrorism” will be held in Ohrid in the period from January 17-22 2010.

The Seminar has the goal of helping the nations form the region to develop a partnership which will be embedded in the overall efforts in the fight against terrorism as well as to enhance the global network of experts in that context.

During the seminar several topics will be elaborated:

• The current situation in Afghanistan,
• Mission, force, command and control-legal issues,
• Resources for ISAF military forces in Afghanistan,
• Laws which regulate armed conflict and similar.

The Seminar will be attended by representatives from the Ministry of Defence and Army of the Republic of Macedonia as well as 24 representatives from Slovenia, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland and Romania.
