Dear peacekeepers, With major respect and pleasure, from the same place from where we sent you seven months ago, I wish to wish you welcome and to congratulate you on your successful mission in Afghanistan. In this mission you have proudly shown your professionalism and preparedness, but your humanity and solidarity as well. From the distant Afghanistan, as major keepers of world peace, you have fittingly sent the Macedonian peace message. In this mission each one of you has shown in practice the centuries-old Macedonian continuity in devotion and patriotism, in dignity and humanity, in ideas and sacrifice. I was assured in all of this during my last visit in Afghanistan in October, when we all celebrated together the Day of the Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle. As a Minister of Defence I was happy that I was with you, but at the same time I was also especially proud on the words of praise which I heard from Commander McChrystal about you, as well as from our friends from the NATO Alliance. And this is why, I told you in Afghanistan: you are heroes of your profession! You are worthy followers of all Macedonian ARM peace generations. You are an example for all future Macedonian peacekeepers. With all of this, you obligate us to further devotedly work in the interests of ARM members and to continue to enable you to show your preparedness in practice. At the end, I would like to once again congratulate you on your successful mission, to you and of course to your families, with confidence that you can always count on our support. Allow me once again to thank you for making me feel proud. |
