Today in the Training Centre “Pepelishte”, an Initial Planning Conference was held for the Multinational Exercise “Balkan Star 2010” which will be held in the Military Range “Krivolak” from October 14 to 20 2010. Apart form the participation of ARM units as hosts, units in the size of one platoon from the armies of Turkey, Greece, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are planned to participate on the exercise.

The director of the exercise “Balkan Star 2010” will be Colonel Blagoja Iliev, Deputy Commander of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, which is also the bearer of the activities related with this exercise. Apart form personnel from the brigade, representatives from the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Macedonia, the General Staff of the ARM, the Joint Operations Command, the Training Command, as well as representatives from the armies participants in the exercise, also participated on the Conference.

During the conference the administrative part, security procedures, command and control, as well as the scenario of the exercise were defined. Special accent in the work of the conference was put in the work by syndicates and inspecting Military Range “Krivolak”, where the accommodation capacities were looked into and the ranges for carrying out the content foreseen in the plan of the exercise.
