On Monday (February 22), in the Army Home in Skopje, beginning at 13:00 hours, a ceremony will be held for awarding a “SEEBRIG Achievement Medal” to ARM members who served in the South-East European Brigade SEEBRIG. The SEEBRIG medal to the eleven ARM members will be awarded by the SEEBRIG Commander, Brigade General Ziber Dusku. The ceremony at the Army Home will be attended by: The Minister of Defence Mr. Zoran Konjanovski, the Chief of GS of the ARM, Lieutenant General Miroslav Stojanovski, part of the SEEBRIG personnel, the families of the decorated ARM members, representatives from the MOD and GS of the ARM and other guests. Otherwise, the ceremony for awarding the medals is being held in the framework of the visit of the SEEBRIG Commander to the ARM, where in the next two days evaluation will be carried out on the declared units with whom the ARM participates in SEEBRIG. As it is known, the South-East European Brigade, SEEBRIG, is formed in 1999, as a result of the agreement for regional cooperation in the field of defence known as the Agreement for Multinational Peace Forces of South-Eastern Europe (MPFSEE), which in 1998 was signed by: Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Macedonia, Romania and Turkey. After its forming, the brigade staff where the ARM participated with two officers was located in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and in the principle of rotation, in 2003 it was dislocated in Constanta, Romania, and from 2007, the tasks are carried out in Istanbul, Turkey. Apart from the participation with staff officers, the ARM in SEEBRIG has declared one Mechanized Infantry Company and an Engineer Platoon. In the twelve-year existence of SEEBRIG, several exercises have been carried out where apart from declared units; over 100 ARM members have participated. One of the more vital tasks that the SEEBRIG staff carried out is its deployment in Kabul in the framework of the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, in the first half of 2006. According to the analysis thus far, the existence of the South-East European Brigade has satisfied in full the expectations of the nations in the region, which represents an achievement of the commitments for strengthening the good neighbourly relations and the cooperation between the countries in the region, as well as in the giving of appropriate contribution in the strengthening of security and stability globally.

On Monday, prior to the ceremony, the SEEBRIG Commander will hold meetings in the MOD and GS of the ARM with the Minister of Defence, Mr. Zoran Konjanovski and with the Chief of GS of the ARM, Lieutenant General Miroslav Stojanovski.
