Sector for Politics and Planning

  • Coordinates the development and develops strategic documents in defence area in cooperation with the other MOD and ARM GS departments;
  • Organises, coordinates and directs the development of documents for MOD functioning in a state of war;
  • Organises, coordinates and directs the development and the update of the documents for functioning of the state administration bodies in a state of war;
  • Organises and coordinates the planning for organising the territory for defence needs;
  • Cordinates realisation of the MoD policy in armament control area;
  • Cordinates realisation of tasks stemming from the Vienna Document – 99, as well as other multilateral agreements signed by the Republic of Macedonia;
  • Organises and coordinates the work of the other participants and leads the process of adoption of the military budget;
  • Conducts study and analysis of processes, concepts and techniques for defence resourcs management;
  • Develops information and reports for the needs of the Minister of Defence, and other users if required;

MAIN TASKS OF THE DIVISION FOR POLICY PLANNING

  • Develops the Defence Plan of the Republic of Macedonia and conducts assessment on possible threats to the territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the MOD functioning in a state of war;
  • Organises, coordinates and directs the development of the Defence Plan of the Republic of Macedonia, as well as the development and the update of the individual parts of the Plan;
  • Organises, coordinates and directs the development of the Assessment on Possible Threats to the Independence and Territorial Integrity of the Republic of Macedonia;
  • Organises, coordinates and directs the development of documents for MOD functioning in a state of war;
  • Organises and coordinates the planning for equipping the state administration bodies for work in a state of war, as well as stockpiling and safeguarding the necessary equipment and materiel;
  • Conducts inspection or visits on assessing armed forces of foreign countries;
  • Organises visits and accompanies teams, delegations of foreign countries’ armed forces that conduct inspection, assessment visits and other visits to our country;
  • Prepares and cooperates in the process of development of the Annual Exchange of Military Information and Questioners in the armament control area.
  • Prepares annual, periodical and other information stemming from the Vienna Document – 99, as well as other multilateral agreements signed by the Republic of Macedonia;
  • Conducts collection, examination and feeding of data into the computer model;
  • Develops computer simulation scenarios of the combat readiness of the ARM and foreign armed forces for comparison purposes;
  • Analyses and develops an alternative programme for modernisation and restructuring of the defence system, due to greater efficiency and optimal results in a condition of budgetary constraints of defence development;
  • Participates in the process of analysis of the overall needs for adoption of the defence budget.
