The Department for International Cooperation (DIC) in the Ministry of Defence manages and directs international cooperation in the defence area. DIC coordinates and implements MOD policy in the area of bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation; develops and improves cooperation with NATO and PfP nations; the cooperation with international organizations, centers and institutions (EU, UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, ICRC, DCAF, GCSP, OPCW); develops and harmonizes bilateral, regional and multilateral plans and programmes; develops international agreements, memoranda and treaties on defence area, receives and elaborates NATO classified documents; cooperates with the Defence Attachés accredited to the Republic of Macedonia; communicates with and directs the work of the Defence Attachés of the Republic of Macedonia abroad; organises and performs protocol activities related to sending and reception of domestic and foreign delegations respectively.

FOCUS TASKS of the Department for International Cooperation
1. Preparation of contents and proposals for the Annual National Programme for NATO membership, in the defence area;
2. Development of the Survey of the Overall PfP Interoperability;
3. Preparation and realization of the Individual Partnership Programme between the Republic of Macedonia and NATO;
4. Activities related to European Security and Defence Policy;
5. Development and implementation of plans for bilateral cooperation of the MOD and GS of ARM in the defence area with other countries;
6. Realization of the obligations that arise from international agreements and conventions;
7. Organizing and realizing meetings, expert talks, conferences, etc;
8. Activities related to international organizations, centers and institutions (EU, UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, ICRC, DCAF, GCSP, OPCW);
9. Following the obligations that arise from the participation in multilateral and regional initiatives as part of the cooperation with international organizations: Stability Pact of Southeastern Europe, RACVIAC, SEDM (PMSC of MPFSEE and SEDM CC – from July 2007-2009, chaired by the Republic of Macedonia), SEECP, SEEGROUP, SEEC (SEE Clearinghouse).
