G U I D E   F O R    A U T H O R S

"MODERN MACEDONIAN DEFENCE" (further in the text Journal) is a theoretical journal with its own editorial ownership that is issued twice a year. In the journal, several things are continually or occasionally published, such as:

- original professional works: scientific works, book reviews, short announcements, etc.
- Bibliographies, lists of activities of scientific manifestations that are held in the country and abroad, important dates, and advertisements of companies
The original professional works contain the results of scientific research that have not been published. By accepting the scientific article in the Journal, the authors are obliged not to publish them in other journals or magazines.

The scientific works give information about the useful acknowledgements that help broaden the knowledge and about the adjustments of the authentic research towards the needs of science and practice.

The book reviews represent concise reviews of books and the acknowledgements that the authors have come across in the specific field of research. The competence of the authors in the reviews is justified by the publication of the books.

The short announcements contain results of shorter, but completed scientific research.

The dominant columns in the Journal are as follows:

1. General theoretical issues, issues on doctrine and strategy and other issues from the field of defence;
2. Geopolitical, geostrategic, military political and issues of international engagement in the field of defence;
3. Technical and technological achievements, armament and equipment;
4. Other columns from the field of security, defence and protection;
5. Book reviews, professional works from the field of defence.

PREPARATION OF THE JOURNAL

The journal should be submitted in one printed copy printed on a laser printer, without spacing, on both sides of the page, in B-5 format. It is to be submitted on a floppy disk in order to make the publishing of the Journal easier. The pages and articles should be numbered.

The works should be written in Macedonian or in English. It is advisable for the authors to write the abstracts of the works, the reviews and the short announcements in English.

The works that will not be published will be returned to the authors with an explanation.

During the preparatory process it is advisable to use the International system of units (SI).

The Journal should consist of: title, authors, name of institution, abstract, key words, introduction, content, conclusion and literature.

Title: typed in bold letters in font size 14, in RG-MAC C Times, aligned in the center. The title of the works should be short. However, the title should reflect the contents and possibly contain as many of the key words of the topic in question.

Single spacing.

Authors: name and surname, small bold letters in font size 11, in RG-MAC C Times, aligned in the center.

Double spacing.

Institution: handwriting style of letters, in font size 11, in RG-MAC C Times, aligned in the center.

Double spacing.

Abstract: first typed in Macedonian, in font size 11, in RG-MAC C Times, and then in English, in font size 11, in Times New Roman, in single spacing. The content of the abstract should be specific and it should be an independent piece of writing.

Single spacing.

Key words: five words in the maximum, typed in font size 11, in RG-MAC C Times, in single spacing.

Single spacing.

Introduction: typed in font size 11, in RG-MAC C Times, in single spacing. In the introduction, one should briefly concentrate on the main points from the previous research done in relation with the issue being dealt. Then one should focus on explaining the aims, objectives and the importance of the work - research.

Single spacing.

Content: typed in font size 11, in RG-MAC C Times, in single spacing. The content should cover the theoretical basis, the experimental part and the results of the research.

The works that deal with theoretical research, instead of the experimental part, should contain a chapter on theoretical basis. This chapter will deal with the specifics in relation with the analysis of the results of the research.

The experimental part should be separate and should contain information about the materials used. It should also contain a description of the applied principles and methods that will enable repetition of the stages. However, explanation in detail is not necessary.

The results and the discussion should be given in one chapter. The discussion should contain the analysis of the results and the conclusions that can be extracted.

Single spacing.

Conclusion: typed in font size 11, in RG-MAC C Times, in single spacing. in single spacing. The conclusion should be a short summary of the work. It should also encompass the results of the research.

Single spacing.

Literature: typed in font size 11, in RG-MAC C Times, in accordance with the world standards. The literature should be given in a separate chapter. The bibliographical units should be numbered in the order in which they appear in the footnotes in the text.

Margins: - in B5 format. The works should be typed out on A4 paper in the following way:

- top: 5 cm

-top: 1.89" or in cm 4.8 cm
- bottom: 5 cm -bottom: 1.89" 4.8 cm
- left: 4 cm -left: 1.58" 4 cm
- right: 4 cm -right: 1.58" 4 cm
-gutter: 0" 0 cm

The editorial board will send the accepted works to be proofread. The proofreaders and the authors will stay anonymous. The proofread works, together with the possible comments and opinions of the editorial board, are given to the authors. The authors, within the period of 15 days, are obliged to make the necessary corrections.

The author proposes the category of the works. However, the editorial board makes the final decision based on the opinions of the proofreaders.

If necessary, the pre-published copy is sent to the author who in turn should correct spelling mistakes, punctuation, etc. However, the author is forbidden to change the text. If the author comes across some additional information that is to be included in the works, he/she can give a brief note at the end of the text. The corrected copy should then be returned to the editorial board within 2 (two) days.

The time necessary for publishing the works, among other things, depends on adhering to this guide

The works is submitted in printed form in accordance with the above given conditions and on a floppy.

Deadlines for submitting the works: 30.04. and 31.10. in the current year.
